Why we chose the name, Shackleton Stout?
Ernest Shackleton was a renowned British explorer known for his ambitious Antarctic expeditions in the early 20th century. Born in 1874, he is best remembered for his 1914-1917 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, during which his ship, the Endurance, became trapped in ice and sank. Shackleton and his crew survived a harrowing journey across the Antarctic landscape and successfully reached safety after an incredible leadership effort. His story of resilience and determination has become legendary, symbolizing the spirit of exploration and the human will to endure against all odds.
With such perseverance, we found it only fitting to name one of our favorite roasts, after Mr. Shackleton. This coffee embodies Moka Joe’s desire for the outdoors, adventure, and to have our coffee to stand the test of time.
